Popped the hood open and i noticed this part of the engine missing. I thought it was just an engine valve cover screw but when i peek into the hole i can see the inside of the engine... i've been running like this for a while now.
Anyone know what this affects? And where i can get a replacement if it's really missing? thanks.
That thing you circle is called the PCV Valve.... Pretty cheap to get. With that out you should be having some idling problems already. I don't know what the cost is.
Go to pepbys or autozone or someplace like that and get a crankcase filter. It looks like a super small filter for your intake.
Put that on your valve cover and cap off the vacumm hole with a small plug. The same store should have em. 15 or 20 bucks for everthing......
ya, thats the PCV valve, cheap part, you're lookin at 3 bucks at your local parts store, and install it yourself, don't let anyone else do it, its very easy... all u need is a pair of pliars.
i'ma gonna go at pepboys and see what i can do to get this fixed...
i did notice some idling problems, but only when the A/C is on and whenever i go from a stop... the engine hesitates, but other than that it seems to be okay.
so its okay to just cover this and not actually connect it like the one pictured above?
