Is this something going bad or just the cold whether?
This problem started when I was driving in fourth and when i hit the gas hard the RPMs shoot up and the car goes no where, and then today I noticed when i was in third I hit the gas hard and it did the same thing, could this be cause of the cold whether or what?
Are you saying the tach. jumps ahead even though you are not accelerating? If its though you will need new igniter for your distributor or get a new one.

Yea, Ill hit the gas and the RPMs will get to like 5000 and the car only speed up like 2 mph. Its like something is spinning but nothing is at the wheels.
I had a friend that had that problem. It ended up being his torque converter. He replaced it and it was a completely different vehicle! It was a chevy truck tho. Maybe just another suggestion! Good luck Bro
It's a '94 VTEC, it has no torque converter, its manual. It could be the clutch. Here is what you do to test if its clutch, put it into 3rd gear with ebrake tightly on, rev to 1500 rpm and start letting go of the clutch. If the engine stalls within 2 seconds, than clutch is good, if it feels like engine is still spinning it is bed. Usually you'll know if the clutch is bed when it grabs when the pedal depressed almost all the way or has a very mushy feel to it.
About the distributor, my tach would act up weird and jump ahead without any other problems like that for a week, and then the engine started acting weird, so I replaced the distr. and no problems.
Do hear the engine reving higher while the tach. is going? If this is the case than you clutch is deffinelty out.

Land speed racing will sell you a package with LSD, clutch, and flywheel for I think $900 plus shipping. I'll find out later when I wake up at about 4pm.
