Some help w/ some wheels...

I just got an awesome deal on a set of 18"x7.5" wheels (Raptor MZ-1's); only problem is I later found out they might have an offset of 40 instead of 42 like I thought. Will these give me a lot of trouble? And what can I do to help relieve the rubbing, if it's that bad? i don't mind an occasional rub while turning or anything.

BTW - I'm gonna be runnin on 215/35/18's, when i save up

You might have to roll the fenders so it won't rub. I have some 17" Racing Hart Tracers (discontinued) and the offset is 37, so I have to do the same thing. I think some shops actually have a machine to "roll" a fender. You might look into that so you don't thrash your tires.

Are you lowered? If you are not them you will probably be fine and will occasionally hear rubbing while cornering.

If you are lowered more than an inch then you will experience rubbing no matter what tires you have. A 37 offset is very low when combined with a 7.5" rim. You will rub A LOT if you are lowered.

The only thing to do is roll the fenders or if you got a great deal then you can probably afford to take the rims to a machine shop and have a few mm shaved off to increase the offset. If you choose this route then you have to make sure that you take it to a reputable shop because it must be a perfectly flat surface.

I'm not lowered yet, but it was the next mod i was gonna throw on. I'm lookin at Neuspeed Sport springs (1.75"f/1.5"r), or going w/ air cans(most likely). With the air cans, i could raise it up around town so it wasn't so bad, but I want to be able to ride around while dropped. If dropped about 1.75", will it be too bad?

It shouldn't be too bad.

I have 18 X 7.5 rims with a 42 offset and I experience no rubbing at all. I'm dropped about 1.5 - 1.75.

You definitely have to go with 215/35/18's though.

You'll probably experience an occasional rub around corners.
