some help please?

Hey, newbie on here. But if it makes a difference, I've got an issue I'd like some advice on. My car is a 93 vtec for starters.
simply put--> car no workie right.

I was attempting to run my car tonight...and it didn't quite happen. I hit the gas for a second, slowly let the clutch out to match speed w/a friend next to me...waited, then tried to take off. That's when I felt a big surprise, because nothing happened.

Now there is almost no throttle response at low rpm. Even at wide open throttle it takes a while for it to respond. There is practically a full pause before it realizes that it's supposed to be going somewhere.

Anyone have some thoughts on this?

Might just have to adjust your throttle cable.

There is a huge lag in response from the car. No one there had any ideas last night. Is there a reason the throttle cable would be off?
What other possibilities could lie in this?
I'm taking it to someone's shop tonight. I'd just like to hear something...anything to make me feel better for right now.

Unfortunately, it could be many things from a fuel delivery problem to something basic. Your fuel lines my be clogged, fuel filter in need of replacing (not likely since they RARELY have to be replaced), bad fuel pump, etc.

Could also be clogged air filter, bad plugs, wires, cap or rotor, etc.

The best thing is to take it to a shop where they can accurately diagnose the problem because It sounds like you aren't throwing any codes.

if you know a friend with a h22, start swaping ignition parts from his car to yours to see if it solves your problem. just make sure you only swap one thing at a time so you can isolate the problem.

Just an update for anyone interested: took it to the shop yesterday. They pulled the valve cover off...and ba-bam! Timing belt had jumped two teeth on the cam gear. Intake was 30 degrees retarded!!! I'm like fawk...that's some scary ****.
So I was lucky so far. Hopefully that's all that's wrong with it.

And yeah, fortunately for the future i know someone who usually has stuff.
