was there ever a sohc 4th gen? (i'm a 5th gen owner and i dont know much about the 4th gen).
some of my friends from work were talking how they actually sold a sohc 4th gen here and i thought the 4th gen only had 3 series of engines, H22 non-vtec, H23 and H22A vtec
i know the ones in japan had F series and i believe those were sohc

what do they usually run high 16's
that makes the prelude look so bad, why would they offer such a cheesy engine in a nice car like a prelude? It was the top of the line honda at it's point during the 4th gen years (exception being the NSX). That has always bafold me.
I'm an S owner, and it is kind of annoying to have to explain to people that even though this is a Prelude, it is the SOHC one and it's actually not fast. I still love my car though, and it tears around quite nicely. Good first car, definitely. I race autox, and with Falken Azenis, it is a nice H-Stock car.

The main reason it is slow is because the long ecno gears. Mine did a 17 flat stock. Then it did a low 16 with a SI tranny, still stock. I think with a few mods its easily a mid 15 car. ANd let me tell you somthing, its not the S that makes preludes look bad, it's the SS's. SLOOOOOOW. haha Now a have a jdm and its fast.

So far, I have no problem hanging with my friend's 5th gen lude. They are not as bad as you think compare to those accord and civic, especially new eclipse.
