So a possible solution to our trademark rust spot...

Okay, so i'm sitting here tonight bored and thinking about my lonely little prelude out here on campus, and i'm thinking, ya know, i want to get those rust spots fixed, but what's the point it'll just rust again. Low and behold on TV, because i'm down in the Southern end of Illinois, there is a commercial for Rhino Lining truck bed liners, and I thought to myself, hey, maybe if i got those rear wheel wells sprayed with that stuff, would it seal up the liner and prevent water from reaching the offending piece of foam?

Any thoughts ideas, questions or comments?

Moisture would more then likely find its way to the spot and settle inbehind that rhino liner, and just rust again... All tho who knows

if you can seal the metal all the way around.. its great

but use something easier like rust bullet .. or por15.

theres some other type of material that you can grind and stuff but it hardens like rock and wont rust ... i cant remember what its called ,its a ***** to work with but .. if you could settle that inbehind your fender well,s you can grind it out and put in some good filler .. and you should be set.

its really a pain because its so hard to work in teh fender wells even when the car is raised.. not much room at all.

I think I just found my first visible bubble of rust today while washing Very small but I'm sure it'll be much worse when I look up under the wheel well. Hopefully it's not too bad so I can just sand and try to seal it but I'm not optimistic.

the only way, cut it out and weld in new metal ... and put some hammerite or proper undercoating behind those edges .. por15, hammerite on top, or rust bullet .. whatever

por15, and then rust bullet, and then hammerite .. yea that'd do it... rust inhibitor, sealing, sealing and rock proof sealing!

well from what's been explained to me, the rust spot occurs because water gets in between the metal and soaks into a foam piece for anti-vibration, so if i stop the water from getting to that foam by sealing up the wheel well then i would be golden. What am i missing here
