And I pull a U through at this turn to go back the other way, decided to head somewhere else...
I step on the gas to pull myself outta the U Turn...
Hit 5k , shift second, bam, no power, engines sputtering, I coast it into a parking lot nearby and park it even...
So I think I blew my timing belt, or the tensioner, as the car will not start now, and when it was running right after it went, it was sputtering pretty bad and a slight knock... I only let it run for a couple seconds.
With any luck the belt only skipped, and put it out of whack, hopefully not damaging any valves...
But I assume the worst, so it looks like im buying a new head, or entire longblock.
Also to include, I rebuilt engine a shorttime ago, roughly over a year now, replacing almost everything ... pistons, rod, crank, bearings, seals, rings, honed cycls, timing belt, tensioner....
It MAY not be the timing belt, but thers nothing else I could assume that is broke.
Gonna pull everything apart this weekend and find out indefinately.
My dist is brand new as well.... But ya neer know, that was next on my list, but i got sick recently as well, so Im just waiting until my dad gets back...
Ok, so pulled the top half cover of the timing belt off to double check make sure timing belt is ok, check the tensioner, everything seems to be ok...
So we then check the dist... and soon as we open it up, thers a piece of plastic loose inside, not the dist cover, but a cover inside that houses all the electronics, had somehow broken , the plastic was brittle, would crumble in my hand... Anywyas it was broken and blocking the assmebly from turning to create spark, so that was my problem....
All in all, no bent valves, and I got very lucky, i took the plastic junk out, cleaned the dist, and put it back on, turned the key vrrooooooooooooom vroooooooooom...
