so i took out the CC to fix the light/ac problem....

yeah i've been having un-lit climate controls for i don't know how long.

i followed the writeup on how to remove the CC (missing some small info but you can figure it out easily when you get it to those steps)

one big thing was my circuit board did NOT come out easy like the writeup said. it was lodged in there. under the whole unit you will find two "holes" that are the bulb housings. push on those two simutanously and it will pop out.

i resoldered all connections. put it all back in and what do you know?

before the temperature light was out and i had vent control........NOW OPPOSITE , also my A/C button is always figity and i usually have to bang on it, i thought this would fix it but i guess not cause it still does it.

i guess i need a used "new" CC to install in there.....

Aw man that sucks ^... I have the same exact problems with my cc. Some of the lights don't work. I always thought it's a fuse problem... i guess not?

^oh i've never had vent controls, i'm just talking about the lighting.......its been stuff on top only vents for more than 7 months.......

it only changes if i press the other buttons i want and randomly (could be hours/days/weeks) and it will turn to defrost or top and bottom selections

yeah it sucks

well, the reason i resoldered mine was because i didnt have A/C and that fixed it but since then the lights have been buggy and sometimes the vent controls are so-so as well. i dont care too much as long as i have A/C

i had the same problem. it usually took about a week for it to switch after i hit a different vent, and even then it didn't go to the one i pressed. if i reach behide the radio(on the passenger side) and wiggle the cord that goes up to the cc unit then the lights will come back on and so will the ac, and some times it switches to the right vent i pressed. you can reach it without takeing the dash apart, just feel around for the cord that goes up to the cc unit. there are two of them you'll want to wiggle the big one, the small one doesn't do anything.

Is there a write-up for the LED conversion for the 4th Gen. or at least have a diagram of the CC?

if you find a climate control to buy and end up with an extra housing (the vents themselves, all of that plastic framework), i really need one. Mine is busted, and the vents dont move.

Thanks, cause I've done plenty of 5th Gens, and I tried a 4th Gen, but the person I sent it to says it didn't work....
