the Red blue wire is the positive wire for the h1 lights if remember right. Any ground wire will be black. I think the lights dont light up the way you want to cause you have them wires mixed. I highly doubt you will be able use your h1 light for daytime housing, while having them as highbeams. The reason why your lows come on with your highs when you run it from your fog kit is cause the h4s need to be on in order for the h1s to be on using the high beam switch.
If you want to have your h1 as day time like I do, then you have to wire your high on the same bulb as the low. If you didnt know, your h4 have 2 filements, which allows you to have your lows and high on the same bulb. In order to set this up, you need to connect the positive wire of the of the lows, to one prong of the h4, and the positive wire of the highs (red and blue i think) to the other prong of the h4, and use either the ground of the lows, or the ground of the highs to the last prong of the h4( the top prong i believe is the ground). Once that is done, if you turn on your low, they should light up normal, and if u flip the switch for the highs, they should come on right on top of the same bulb.
Once that is done, rewire your fog light it, and use some electrical connector or something that has rubber or plastic cover around em, those can be found at autozone or something, and plug, them directly to the h1s, and run your wires. If you follow the wiring kit right, u should have some wires going to the battery, to your swtich and so on.
You should also have one red wire that goes inside the car, in order to activate the switch. You need to have that hooked up a power source...not a constant one because it will drain your battery if the car is off, and the lights are still on. So I recommend connecting the switch to the red wire of the battery, and leaving the switch to the on position. This will cause the lights to come on only when the key is turn to ACC 1, when the radio comes on, whch is usually when you are about to start your car. Have the switch handy so that, if u ever have to sit in the car and want to listen to music, you can just turn off the switch of the day time running lights so u can save your battery and still listen to music. I hardly ever sit in the car and listen to music while no engine is running, so i never switch my daytime lights off. So with this, my lights run when i start my car, and turn off when i turn it off.
I ve never had a problem.
here you you can see i m holding the h4 harness on the left side of the screen for the lows and highs, notice the 3 wires, and on the right side of the screen, the h1s connected to the fog wiring kit.
h4 wiring...you can see the ground and the red wire for h4s low on the right, and the other red wire coming from the high beam side for the highs on the left, all on the same harness...that will make your highs and lows on the same bulb alowing you to run your h1 lights for the other purpose u want.
