Smokey Exhaust at Idle

This just started happening about a month ago...

When I let the car idle for about 5 min (drive through, car wash) the exhaust gets smokey and rich w fuel...But after a few revs it clears up. I though maybe I was passing oil but I had a buddy in another car watch my exhaust while I went through 4 gears to the redline and he said it there was no smoke whatsoever. Could there be a problem w my ignition? Plugs look clean when I pull them too....!? Should I try a MSD? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure it's fuel? Does this happen only when the car is cold, or also when the car has warmed up?

and really i have to idle for at least 5 min, I think the plugs are getting loaded up ... I read the post on hesitation and it reminded me...I think the plug wires I have are the stock ones from 93.

what color?

What color was the smoke? If its running rich...then it should be black. My lude also puffs smoke at idle or after sitting but will not puff while driving. I believe its bad piston rings and/or bad valve seals leadings to burning oil. Get a compression test and maybe a leak down test to locate the prob

dude i think it's normal if it's just grey and smells like fuel, most cars do that when you let em sit for awhile idling, espically if you have aftermarket exhaust... crank the throttle and see if any white or blue come out
