smoke

i finally start getting money saved to do some stuff to my car.... and yesterday i notice white smoke and a hesitation when i gas it a little from a stop... from what ive searched on this post it is probably the headgasket, along with some sensors... my question is... how hard would it be to do it myself.... a couple of my friends are pretty savvy when it comes to car stuff, but havent really done anything with hondas... any ideas/suggestions...??

i live in phoenix, so any reputable car shops would help too, if you dont think it would be possible to do it myself/with friends

if its going to cost more than 500 im probably just gonna go without a car for a month or so and get an h22

thanks..

hey man...if you can make it there we are having a prelude meet this friday. if you bring your car we can look at it and check it out to see whats wrong. we usually get about 10-16 ludes out there and its nice talkin to other luders in the area. there are people from all ages, the youngest probably being me at 18, all the way up to 35ish. so if you want to come on out, meet us at the kmart parking lot across from arizona mills from 7:30-8:30 this friday (7/26). az mills is located at I-10 and baseline...if youve been in the area long enough you know where it is. hope to see ya out there!

p.s. - if you want more info check out hondaprelude.com in the southwest forum

White smoke is not good at all. Has the car ever run hot? You also might have some bad rings.

Take a look at your dipstick. If the oil looks murky you may have blown a head gasket. If its normal, then I would have a leakdown test.

actually the upper hose for the radiator cracked and it overheated, had to replace that, but other than that it has been fine... it probably is a headgasket... is this very hard to do myself/w friends??
