si vs vtec

I did a search on this and could not exactly find what i was looking for. SO if you ahve any information help.

I asked some one if si vtec and si are the same, and he told me no that si vtecs are from canada. Which it could be that my car is from there. I bought it used

Okay anyways I am 100% sure it is vtec and on the sticker between the body and the drivers side door where you open it, like where it says the model number it says si on there.

what are the differences between the us vtec and the vtec from canada? and the vtec us and the si us

open your hood and if your valve cover says vtec then its an si vtec if it does not then its either an S or an SI ... the S is a single camand the SI is a dual cam (dohc). And the vtec model is made in the usa as well as canada. the only difference is canada has badging on the real that says S or SI where as in the US the only models that say anything besides prelude on the back are the VTEC model and teh SI4WS

Can also look at your redline. If it is around 6500, it is an SI, if it is around 7200 or so, it is vtec. And to clarify the Canadian badging:

U.S. Canada
S ======= S
Si ======= SR
VTEC ==== SR-V
Same cars, different badging

The differences between the Si-Vtec and the Si is also about 30 HP, Si vtec has 190 and Si (DOHC) has 160, the Si is better for boost and the vtec is better for all motor, and another thing is the midrange, the Si (DOHC) has much better midrange and low-end torque

Yeah Steve Nash is canadian.

It's the same car, actually some are cooler because they got heated seats.

Isnt the SRV a *cough* SUV *cough**cough*??? Even if it isn't (and it may not be cause I dont follow *cough* SUV's *cough**cough* cause they just plain suck at life) SRV sounds like an SUV name anyway. Just my .02.

Are you thinking about the Honda CRV? *cough* C is not equal to S *cough*.
They had to call it something different in Canada because they called civics DX, LX, and SI instead of HX and EX, etc. So they couldn't use the SI for the prelude as well so they used S, SR, SRV. Big deal.
