Si-R

Well, untill an hour ago, i was the driver of a 1992 Honda Prelude Si (im 16, its my fathers car, my Eagle Scout gift). after looking through the file of paperwork for the car from purchase, i was looting at the title and other offficial documents and noticed that it is not a Type Si, but rather a Type Si-R! The only thing i know is that this is probably better than an Si, but how much? if anyone knows i'd like to know what this includes from the Si or other '92's. Thanks!

Umm...If it's an Si-R it would be right-hand drive. Si-R was never offered in the states. Maybe you can scan the documents and show proff...I'm not saying that you're lying.

Look on the side where your driver's seat is next to...It would either say Type S , Si , Or SiVtec IIRC

I've seen a scan of a Canadian 4th gen title that said "Si-R." It was just a normal Si. Nothing different. Just a paperwork screwup.

Okay, let me clear this up.

IN the US the 4th gen prelude with the H23A1 engine was called the "Si"

IN Canada the 4th gen prelude with the same H23A1 engine was called the "SR"

The reason your registration say "Si-R" is because it is an Si/SR prelude. It is no better or worse than any other Si out there.

Now there was a 5th gen Si-R in japan that came with a 220hp H22A with an OEM LSD, this is not what you have.

Sorry to burst your bubble, now change your sig

in 92 some of the titles were printed with SiR. I know for sure, cuz i previosly owned one. I thought it was better and it was! I dont know how, but it was. Anyway their is a SiR, but it will only say that if the car is a 92 and it is exaclty the same as a Si. But more power to ya.

actually the SiR in japan didn't come with the 220ps (Type-S) motor. the SiR was just like our 5th gen base model. the SiR S spec was the one with the 220ps motor and OEM LSD.

just don't want any misinformation running around here

SiR & S spec info in japanese

just dont go slappin' any stickers on your car declaring it an SiR. I saw a prelude today with "prelude type R" stickers on it and almost threw up.

Don't worry, I'm not an exterior person, my money goes under the hood. Why get stickers? I'd rather keep 'em guessing ! Thanks for the info guys. BTW there was a SiR 4th gen made, I just don't have one! Keep up the Prelude'in!
