Si EL Cluster in VTEC engine? - Honda Prelude Forum

i have a 94 Vtec Prelude H22a1, my speedometer is off by at sometimes 20mph. I changed the VSS and that didn't work, so I decided to buy a new El cluster from an automatic S or Si Prelude. Will this cause any problems? I see the redline on the new cluster is at 6500 rpm, and my current cluster the redline is at 7200 rpm. If I put the new cluster in will my car start cutting off the fuel at 6500 rpm or 7200 rpm? I'm also thinking of pulling out the old faceplate from my 7200 redline and putting just that piece in the new cluster so it will look the same as before.

When I did an engine swap I still ran an SI cluster. Not the EL one though. It ran juts fine no problems. When I hit vtec and rev'd all they way to 7400 rpm the needle would just go up into the red, It didn't stop at 6500.
