I have a JDM h22a motor, and since I got it back from the shop after doing a timing belt tensioner replacement it only redlines at around 6200-6500 rpms. Isn't the stock redline like 7200rpms? Whats causing this? How can I fix it?
Sounds like a sensor issue to me. Vtec oil pressure sensor and speed sensors are a couple of them that I know can cause the car to cutoff at around 6500 if malfunctioning.
Either way take it make to the place that did your tensioner and tell them it started happeningexactly after you got it from the shop
the car was warmed up, the redline occured when changing interstates after about 25 min of driving. Im not getting a check engine light, and the car is a 5 speed.
After my swap, we forgot the vtec oil sensor - no engine light. So be aware... sensors will only work and send the right signal to the ecu if they are working...
