shifting linkage sloppy

I have a 92 si and I love this generation of lude.
But,one major complaint I have is that the shifting linkage
is so stinkin sloppy and inaccurate.sometimes under extreme
acceleration I'll get stuck between gears. It just doesn't seem
like the shifting is precise as it should be with a sports car.
Does anyone else have this same problem? Is there linkage swaps
that can be done to rectify this? Is there possibly something wrong
with mine?

No mine is nice. Shifts smooth but stiff engough. You could swap the linkage. I have linkage for a 4th gen if you are looking to replace yours. I might try replacing the tranny fluid first especially if you haven't done it in a while.

I'll try the fluid thanx. But I just think there is to much play
in the linkage itself if that makes sense.kinda hard to explain.
Do the 5th gen. have the same shifting set up?If so has anybody done it? I have lookedat mine and have never seen one like it before. It has to connectiing rods. just by looking at it with the center column out.I have a civic also and that just has one lever straight to the linkage under the car. What a trip.I hate to say it but my civic shifts a hell of alot better. The funny thing is it's ten times as slow.LOL
