Shifter boot change

How do you remove the shifter boot to from the knob and the trim below it?? I wanna replace the boot with a nicer one, where is a good place to find aftermarket shiftboots?? Thank you all in advance

Take off the center console that covers the radio and turn it upside down. Take the two screws off and you have your shift boot free.

thanks man...i already have it that far, but do i need to remove that plastic squarish trim on the bottom of the boot to replace it? and how does the knob come off the boot itself?

to get the shift knob off of the boot you gotta squeeze really hard on the left and right sides of the cheap plastic ring that the knob is attached to, then start wriggling it downward. I usually have to get a wrench and a rag to grab the ring so I don't tear the boot up.

It's always a pita for me to remove. i usually get fed up and curse for like 12 minutes after trying to get it off, then i go back, try again, and it comes right off.

once you get the knob off you can take that part of the console out of the car and figure out how to take the boot off.

i found one on the 1st site i like (the black w. red stiching) will it fit my lude? it says only civic and teg, but will it fit anyway?

Dunno about 4g but I heard the ITR boots will fit 5g.
