Shift boot base mod for 4bidden shifter

I just bought the 4bidden short shifter and will be installing this weekend. I heard that the plastic shift boot base has to be cut but I couldn't find any pictures where to cut (I HAVE SEARCHED!). I found these two pictures from NTPOG which is for 5th Gen shifter installation.

After cutting:

Is it pretty much the same for 4th Gen?

TIA.

All you have to do cut out the plastic in front of the shifter up to the staple that holds the boot on.

You dont have to remove much at all, and some people dont have to remove any at all. Picture where the linkage would hit when shifting into 3rd and 5th, and trim a bit there.

If you use the middle setting (C's setting) you might not have a problem, but if you move it to the top you will definately have to trim.
