Shift Boot

i have a new shift knob im putting into my car soon, but i dont wanna use the stock boot cuz of the way its supposed to connect to the original knob. i know you can swap in a CTR shift boot with some mod, but can i put in an integra boot too?? my bro put in a new one and doesnt need his anymore so i thought it would be easier than getting a new one.

All i did was just take the ring off a del-sol shift boot and put it on our stock ones. I'm pretty sure the ctr one will fit w/ some slight modifications. Should be fairly easy like how people use the ITR ones one our car.

i'm pretty sure the ITR or integra boots will fit, I know a few people that used them, they used staples to hold it in place since the prelude and intergra have different ways to mount the boot to the shifter console.

I think you have to staple it - no other way to attach it since the shift boot ring isnt made like and ITR

It's gonna be hard to staple it. What I did was just use small black screws and it works great.

I didn't staple it... just removed the aluminium ring of the itr boot and put the itr boot between the two plastic rings where the Prelude boot was stapled to. Can't move it around unless I pull very hard, it's sitting there just fine.

staple it, trust me. i stapled mine, but they didnt go through all the way, and i just left them like that cuz i thought they would hold. one day, i dont know y, but i looked at my boot and it just pulled out in one corner, so i had to pull the console and redo it. do it right the first time.

Well It's sitting there for a month now, didn't move one bit since then.
If it gets loose, maybe I'll staple it then

yeah, i was talking to the maker of this thread. dont take it out to staple urs until it comes loose, if it even does. but if you havent done it yet, its better to dtaple it the first time then to have to do it again
