I was doing some major cleaning in my car and found that the guy that sold the car to me liked chocolate and coffee. I started I couldn't clean under the seat so I pulled out the passanger side, I also taken out the shell that has the transmission. So far I found lots of change, melted chocolate, and coffee stains. I had to run a few aarons later on and I was amazed how much better my car handled. So I took out the spare, the back window break light and the stock spoiler (I never really liked spoilers). I'm wondering how much stuff I can take out without totally destroying the look of my car, like carpeting.
Ok cool I'm doing that now. **** gets real sticky there down there. It looks lik you have to take the back seats out to take the carpet off. Would anyone know how to do that? Oh also is the carpet all one peice or two, it looks like its attached in the upper corner below the dash.
Hey this is kinda fun. I didn't think tearing my car apart was going to be cool, but I'm getting everything cleaned and lighter while I'm doing this. Ok the back seats are out, so far I've found about $4 in change, a cardinals pin, and a gold loop earing. Gonna pawn that *****. I'm still having trouble with the carpet in the front. It is all one peice damnit. How am I supposed to get the carpet around that little hole behind the cigerette lighter. Hopefully I dont have to take that case its in too.
PreludeNYC took out the whole entire interior of the rear of his lude...painted the metal back there black...did look that bad but i wouldnt recommend doing it...i think he said he took out 100 lbs or so out of there including everything (spare, jack, tar, rear seats....)
Wing is Pearl White w/out the break light, I wanna see what it will look like when I get my full kit. Most likely I will sell it though. I might just make this a two seater prelude and get the whole back carpeted. Is there anything else I can take out of my Prelude like in the engine area. I havent taken out much there except the washer fluid bottle and the hoses it belongs to. I dont need those cause I clean my windows everymorning.

Thats all I can remember. I might make a little FAQS for how to take out the carpeting insulation w/pics, just cause I'm bored.
My prelude is down to 2550lbs with me in the car. I've removed:
ALL Sound Tar
Spare/Jack
Power Antenna (shaved hole)
All stereo equipment
Entire a/c / heating system
p/s system
p/s & a/c brackets
cruise control
passangers seat
replaced drivers seat with light weight Corbeau seat
all seatbelts minus the 5-point belt for the driver
you could remove front/rear bumpers, but if you got into an accident you'd be ****ed..
car has a carbon fiber hood
did a little cutting here and there to remove some excess weight
car has a full rear seat/all door panels as they weight at the very most 10lbs all together...
car has 13lb 16" rims
working on removing the ABS system
looking to get some parts custom made out of carbon fiber or fiberglass to free up some more weight.
Oh, the quickest and best way to remove the sound tar is dry ice ... till take you 30 minutes tops! and it all comes up nice and clean, nothing left behind .. then just primer, sand down and paint =)

...don't take offf the ABS, I was thinking of doing that when I had my Prelude, I learned my lesson tho, it was raining while I was on the southern State, and the car in front of me hit a puddle and jammed on the brakes, I jammed on my brakes too, and if it wasn't for the ABS I would've most def slammed into the guy in front of me, which at the time was about an inch away from being hit.... ABS man keep it. your going to kick yourself in your ass when you get into an accident that could've been avoided if you kept it...
I just went to the store, Krogar sells dry ice, I didnt pick anyup yet though. Before I start buying a load of this stuff I wanna know exactly how you take the tar off. I mean do you just leave a brick right on top of it or what. Should I chop it into little bits and spread it out or would it evaporate to quick for it to have any effect. This is gonna be a first time experience with the ice.
sky, where in VA are you from? I wanna do some weight reduction but i know i will get addicted until i'm down to a seat and a steeringwheel, and i like the interior too much, making trips to and from VA to FL could get annoying with out sound tar and no stereo or AC..

Im from Virginia Beach, in the Green Run Area. Yea it does get addicting. I was only trying wash my carpet, but I'm taking a hell of a lot of extra stuff out more than I expected. The carpet will go back in though, I'm just trying to get rid of all the unnecessary things from view.
