mine used to be shaved.... but shaved **** never holds up well over years and years. Also keep in mind you'll have to find a place to relocate your license plate...

If it's done correctly it will. By correctly I don't mean loads of body filler.

I kept the Honda logos but removed the prelude one, there's an option for ya. CF trunks are pretty expensive from what I've seen ($600+) and its so small as stated already that you wouldn't lose much weight from it.

i agree, but whats the point? It's alot of work to do it right... welding in a piece of sheet metal, etc. Mine was done correctly but after 5 years you could (in the right sunlight, from certain angles) see a tad bit of a line where the frame used to be.
there is actually another post on here about a rear bumper which does nothing for you but in the picture it has a shaved deck lid. Personally I just threw the carbon fiber deck in the trash (it was broke when the car was stolen from a dealer lot) but I plan on shaving the OEM and placing that back on........ the CF was only 6 lbs. lighter than stock but with the proper work on stock to shave it it should only go NO MORE than 4 lbs. So ask yourself is you want to pay $600+ for 10 lbs. lighter
check out "THUS the most badass looking rear bumper I have seen, is it custom?? " to see the shaved deck lid.

Reason: forgot to add the post about the bumper

had someone do it for me... welded a piece of thick metal that was the same size as the plate bracket... had to use a thick piece that wasn't flexible, cuz anything flexible would cause the bodywork/paint to crack. Then he sanded down the spot welds and finished the work with fiberglass.
I have actual plans on my computer at home that I will post on here that doesn't take a thick piece of metal to fill in the plate area.... just a few bracing techniques to save on weight I'm not positive of the measurements of your prelude but it should give you a reference for a starting point as the one that I have is a 92. and I'm not sure of the year you are working on. I have been in the auto body industry for about 11 years now so there are tricks to the trade that will help you keep the strenght that you need from flexing and breaking the paint and still take the weight off. I wish I had the plans now but I'm actually using my work computer so I have to wait to get home. If there is any way more that I can help just let me know.
