Shakin' lude - HELP!

Just as I've spent money on a sports exhaust this happens!

The car's started to judder and vibrate under acceleration at high speed (from about 60mph+),it only seems to really bad on the motorway(freeway). If I back off the gas and cruise it reduces the vibration but I can still feel it, it's like it's coming through the pedal, then when I put my foot down again it increases again, like some kind of mechanical resonation.

Got all 4 wheels balanced last week and the front right was badly worn on the inside, swapped that to the back for now but problem is still there - any ideas???

Also, I've noticed a small amount of play in the steering rack end set joints (the joint inside the rubber boot just up from the track rod end), i.e. I can wiggle the wheel about 2mm when it's jacked up, but I can't see that causing such a big prob' could u?

Anyway going to get the tracking done on Friday, maybe that could help to find the prob'

Could use some help here, any ideas???

sounds like bad tire wear to me...do you have stock or aftermarket wheels? if so have you lowered your car? and if so is your camber off? . vibration from 60+mph is tell tale signs of tire problems

I don't disagree with that, but now I know for a fact that they're balanced perfectly.

I'm only running with aftermarket 205/55/15's but they do have a bigger offset 'cos they fill the arches, also have Eibach Pro Sport springs, so it's not really been lowered that much at all.

Do you think it could be in the transmission, CV joint perhaps???

Seems to be gettin' worse so I'm panicking now, can't afford to let Honda look at it (£50 p/hr labor rate)

If its a CV Joint you would feel it under....

...heavy turning or just plain turning, its like a knocking noise, i don't think you can tell in a straight line. at least i couldn't

Not really, it's when I'm on the freeway with hardly any steering input.

It seems to be there all the time but it's resonating at 55ish - 70mph. Difficult to describe but it kinda cycles in and out as though somethings drifting in and out of alignment, and it get's more intense when I accelerate.

Everyone I've spoken to has different ideas, from warped brake rotors to the new exhaust, am I the only one to have this problem

new exhaust wouldn't do it, warped rotors only when you were braking you would feel it..You only feel it from your pedal and not the steering wheel? It's def not your CV joints you would hear the clack clack clack and it would be coming from the left or right, both cv's never go at the same time.

Have you ever hit anything hard? Curbs Potholes ect? you might have bent a control arm or suspension piece.

Only a few squirrels! Yeah maybe, the roads over here are sh*t, spend all my time weaving around pot-holes.
I'm gonna bite the bullet & get it in to Honda - ouch $$$.
Thanx for your advice mate, much appreciated.
