serial number

Hi, I tried searching for this but it seemed to only be for the 5th gens. Like for example mine is H22A 10110**....how can I tell the year and some other info of the motor...I know someone posted for the 5th gen from their helms manual, but i was just wondering for my new engine. Also, would it be the same since mine is JDM?

There should be a date code on the engine block.

My JDM was made in Spetember 94.

Your looking for a circle, like a clock, with 12 numbers inside it. There will be an arrow pointing to a number... thats the month.
Same thing with the year, but with a 4 or 5 different numbers in the circle.. It will point to the year the block was cast. There might be a day code too, but I dont remember.

Each circle is cast into the surface of the block, about the size of a quarter each.
I think they are on the side of the block, below the intake manifold... not sure.
