I have a silver 93 lude and i love the car, it's just gotten "old". I want something with more power and more torque....maybe a 5th gen. I am considering selling mine, but i love the looks of the silver 4th gen. would i be better off just keeping mine and putting a JDM H22A in there? I know insurance would e cheaper since i "have" an Si.
man..keep your 4th gen, if you put a JDM h22 in it, youll be much much faster than you are now, and faster than the 5th gen, you could easily see low 14 sec timeslips with bolt ons, JDM motors are yummmmy :d
i`m selling mine and getting a 5th gen. Even with a JDM h22 swap, your still gonna have a car with the little rattles, squeeks, and all the crap that an older car has. That is the main reason i want a 5th gen, because it`ll feel more solid. Even if the 4th gen with a jdm h22 is faster.
I sold my 92 lude si auto and got a 95 lude SE manual, with h22a swap +lsd coming in, feels solid to me. Actually feels way more solid than the 92, like when I close my door and ish. Plus cupholder and EL gauges. Do what you feel but I always felt getting a 4th gen was better cuz u would have left over money vs buying a 5th gen. Unless you can afford it then it don't matter. I would rather have a 4th gen, + leftover money (h22a swap, 52" hdtv , computer stuff, etc)
jsmooney - Actually I just bought a 2nd Gen and I am SERIOUSLY having some fun with it. It is waaaaaay faster than I ever would have imagined. I'm trying to think what I should do with it to make it faster :P
I just drove a 2001 Base Prelude today and it feels a lot newer than my 93 VTEC. It wasn't as big a difference as I imagined though. If you want something newer a 2001 Prelude is tough to beat. I'll probably end up getting one within a year or two.
