can anyone tell me how they installed their cf lip? I just need some advice before I get started from some of you who have it already. Please let me know what you used to drill? size bit? screws? adhesive? thanks a lot.

I would really have to see Joel's CF lip and Seibon's side by side before making a decision. I still think I would go with Seibon because it is cheaper, and well, my buddy owns part of the company

Thats not right. Did you talk with them about it? I have seen their work on CF hoods, and it was awesome.

Use all the stock stuff to hold it on. Line it up with your stock and mark the holes and drill them out. Dont make it harder than it is.

Yeah I drill the holes myself, I have a 4G bumper in my basement I line it up perfect everytime (now).

I guess you can kind of see them here

Pretty *** if they can't drill some holes for ya. And about your gelcoat...that's why I hate most other companies' carbon fiber products. I didn't know you had that much trouble with it.

Anybody can do a hood. It's flat and you can do a wet layup and just work out the airbubbles. These guys use a gelcoat polyester resin (cheap) and just buff it when it's done. That is BS in my opinion, the gelcoat will not hold up to UV exposure long and will yellow a lot sooner. I use high quailty epoxy resins, and my stuff gets sanded and a polyurethane topcoat http://www.endura.ca/topcoatsover.htm# the Clear 100 with "exceptional" UV protection. My top coat is also abrasion resistant and looks great, now that I have a guy that knows how to put it on.

Gelcoat, even with UV 'Stabilizers' will not last very long. It's my use of high quality materials like makes it more expensive.

1 - epoxy resins, not smelly polyester resins that give you damage
2 - Vacuum Bagging, that's a lot of throw away materials for every lip. But you get the strongest product with te most efficent resin to fabric ratio
3 - Polyurethane top coat, extra sanding and coating

But if you want cheap, buy cheap. It's your call of course.

when you're lining up the lip make sure you line up the sides perfectly before you mark the holes. that should ensure perfect fit.

But 4bidden looking at yours...does your's hang out on both sides??

Mine are flush
