I just picked up a 94 VTEC at the salvage auction. My question is what will it be worth when I get done fixing it. It is black with black leather interior(perfect condition), five speed, 48,000 miles, viper alarm, body kit, altezza's, and tinted windows. It was wrecked light in the front, no inner structure or frame damage, it just needs a front bumber cover, hood, headlights, radiator support, and one fender. What do you thinK?
I'm thinking I will sell my other 94 SI and keep this one.
Originally posted by red92s That sounds like a killer find. I'd say a mint 94 VTEC with that milage could go for about 8K+. How much did you buy the car for?
I paid $10.5K for my 93 VTEC, but we are talking mint with 47k miles in WI.
I have all the stuff you need from my buddys wrecked prelude sitting behind the barn. Give me a price for everything and I coudl let it go for cheap. The car is Azura Blue or something like that.
I have a comment... usually when you buy a car at a wrecker's auction... the title is now a Salvage title... so you lose alot of the value in the car..........

you cant title a salvage titled car. meaning, you cant ever drive it legally on the street. you cant register it. correct me if im wrong. your best buying the car, the stripping it and selling the parts. the motor alone will go for 2k.
in nevada you can get a salvaged titled register and driven legally... but you have to go through an inspection process and then your title will be labeled "Reconditioned" ... not as bad a salvage, but not as good as clean title...

In Kentucky, you can title the car after it has been rebuilt and in some states such as South Carolina, you recieve a clean title. A lot of people around here go to salvage auctions in SC to buy cars, because no mater how bad the damage is the car is always going to have a clean title. That's something good to remember, just because a car has a clean title doesn't mean that it has never been totaled.(Guess it pays to run a Carfax)
SlowSi-The whole car has 48,000 miles
And as of now I have no intention of parting it out
So you're saying if a used car has recently been titled in SC be suspicious? Definitely run a carfax and and have a mechanic and body shop look over any used car...
How is the rest of the body? Any dings or scratches in the paint? I'm seriously interested if there is no frame damage. I've had bad experiences with frame damage.

That is exactly what i'm saying, also the if the car is titled in SC when it is totaled, you then buy the car bring it back to say, KY, fix the car, have it titled in KY, and it will still show up as a clean title.
Slow Si- The rest of the car is absolutly mint. I haven't found one ding in the car other than where it is wrecked. It was obviously someones show car or at least there second car. It has a super street tour 2002 sticker on the windshield.
