Is this possible? I know the engine lays differently etc... But there is probably a way this could be done right? Only reason i ask is my friend was talking about doing it to his 92 Si and i was like yea right, i don't think that has or even could be done.
Originally posted by twisted_prelude i think putting in a CL-S engine would be better and expect more gains from a V6 than a I4.
The new type S CL is coming out with the NSX's V6 vtec with 260hp stock with a six speed manual tranny. aka GOD of hondas jk. Anyway back to the subject. There is a huge problem with transplanting the S2000's engine into a prelude or any other front wheel drive honda makes. That is simply that the S2000's engine spins the opposite directions as any other honda. This is going to make a huge problem unless your going to need 5 gears for reverse and only one for forward.
Peace

he may as well just go out and buy the s2000. putting a s2000 engine in a lude would be a big job. by the time everything would be all done and added up, he could have probibly got the s2000 which would have saved a lot of headaches and picked up a lot more women!
I mean theoretically...once you're out of the same engine class F,H,K, whatever...don't you pretty much have the same amount of work no matter what engine you go with? I mean from CL-S to a Nissan to a Toyota does it really matter...you're cutting and welding no matter what, are't you?

If you had a custom tranny it would eliminate the problem with the motor spinning the other way.

I know that but your basic reject doesn't. You know what I mean.
