RSR exmag tick

I just installed a RSR Exmag exhaust and when im at a stop with the car running or with it off it makes a loud tick tick tick noise that I think is normal? Im just seeing if there was anything to help the tick not be so loud or not happen at all.

it's normal for a new exhaust - i think it's just the exhaust heating up and cooling down, if it's just when it's running it's something loose

It's normal. For some reason is happens with RSRs. Mine even still does it and it's no where near new.

I have a test pipe and it still ticks....I always thought that it was the ceramic coating....or the sound of the metal contracting as it cools down. In any case it is completely normal, mine has done it since it was new and it is now over a year old.

tick? i don't have an RSR mag, but mine doesn't tick.
you talking about the tick that almost all cars make when you turn them off from driving around half-a-day? i always thought that was the cooling of the block itself.. all the oil draining back down and what not.

this tick is coming from the resonator, it's different than the tick that comes from the block cooling down. But yeah, if it's normal than it's cool!

It's not the Cat.

It's normal. Mine ticked really badly for about 3-4 months, then after I got used to it, it stopped.

My ExMag's resonator ticked when you turned the car off too. I've had it for a couple months now and it has since stopped... or just don't notice it anymore.

mine only ticks occansionally.

what really ticked was my test pipe. that thing ticked so loud it felt like it was actually vibrating the car.

needless to say most of the ticking stopped after i replaced that ticking test pipe

My high-flow cat still ticks a ton. The Skunk2 ticked for like a week.

My ExMag never ticked, and it's far from being loud. It's almost OEM sounding. I dunno what's up with yours.

it's not loud at all, the ticking was loud. But really the ticking has toned down alot already, I think there was some build up of some kind and it has gotten blown out now.
