Rs lip painting...

Ok ive taken my car back to the guy who painted my car about 6 times to get the rs lip repainted. it keeps chipping off. is there any method to get this paint to just stick and stay. he told me that urethane never sticks and you just have to deal with it. i would like to do some prepping myself to make sure it stays the first time and just take it back to him to paint it. please help!

it needs to be scuffed with a fine grit sand paper, fully primed and the paint shuld have a flex agent mixed in...sounds like you guy don't know what he's doing. If he's just spraying over old paitn then it wil just keep on chipping

I have the same prob, and mine can never be fixed. If you look really closely at my kit you can see hairline cracks. So anytime the kit flexs from wind or whatever the crack opens and splits the paint. It sucks. There are a couple of things you can do: get a new lip and never scrape with it, sand down to the urethane and put some filler on in a thin coat and painted with the flex agent. After that you need to get a clear plastic "tape like" shield. One of the mags did it to a WRX a couple of issuse back. That should help a lot. Mike

My car is that way, too. I have some swirl remover from Meguires that I need to use.

Is it hard to spray small parts such as that lip. I could do all the prepping work and i guess by a spray gun and give it a shot. anyone wanna give me some advice..
