rough idle

Hey guys, i have a problem with my idle, mines a 92 Si. My idle of my car completely warmed up is about 500 rpm, it is supose to be 750 rpms right? and sometimes, mostly during hot days, when im coming to a stop and shift into neutral, my rpm would go down and drop past the idle goes to 0, and then bounce back up and down between 0 - 750. Sometimes the car would even stall. Does anyone have this problem with their engine and have fixed it? I talked to my mechanic and he said to replace the Air Idle Control or Idle Air Control or something like that i forgot, its in the throttle body. He said its around 100 dollars from the honda dealership. Does someone know the part im talking about and can give me an exact name, and any other thoughts on whats causing my rough idle. Thanks

if you are refering to your AIR idle control valve then I know what you mean. You should try to bump up your idle first, if you not sure how to this then just ask.

Do you have any mods on your car? and whats your milage?

If your in need for a tune up and your idling that low that could be the reason for stalling. If your car is in tip top shape and it still stalls then try adj the rpm idle. If that doesn't work then give me more info and I'll see what can be done

i have aem cai, dc ss exhaust, springs/shocks, act clutch, but when i got my car last year it was stock and it had the rough idle, yea before it wouldnt die it would go to 0 and jump back up, but ever since i got my valve adjustment about 2 months ago, SOMETIMES it would die but most of the time it would jump up again.

my car has 155k miles on it, but it runs perfect except for the idle, feels strong, and i did a tune up last year when i bought my car, when it idles fine and the needle is not bouncing, my idle is lower than what it should be.

im going to call the honda dealer tomorow and order the part and have it worked on i guess.
