rocker ams pronto!

hey guys, i need help....well detailed instructions for adjusting my rocker amrs correctly. my car sounds ridiculously loud. i know it's the rocker arms for sure i just don't know the exact sequence to go about adjusting them. ps- the problem i had when i tried to do it alone was that i couldn't loosen the intake side. again probably something to do with the correct sequence. this is a 92 non v-tec dohc h23.

Are you talking about doing a valve adjustment? If you are the sequence doesn't really matter. You can do it by the book by positioning the cam gears but all you really have to do for the cylinder you're working on is to make sure the cam lobes are facing away from the valves.

The cylinder you're working on needs to be at TDC. When that cylinder is at TDC the cam lobes will be facing away from the valves. Look at the cam gears there's arrows on them. When both arrows are facing straight up cylinder 1 is at TDC. Rotate the gears 90 degrees counter clockwise and the arrows will be facing towards the front of the car. Cylinder 3 will be at TDC. Rotate another 90 degree and they fill be facing down. Cylinder 4 will be at TDC. Rotate a final 90 degrees and cylinder 2 will be at TDC. To double check look at the cam lobes like I said earlier. If that cylinder is at TDC the valves will be closed and the cam lobes will be facing away from valve.

should quiet your motor as soon as you start it back up, mines usually silent after a valve adjustment
