Rim Size and Lowering...

So I'm buying rims here in the short future, and aren't sure whether or not to go with 17s or 18s. So the question, what kind of drop would you recommend for 17" and 18" rims? I want to avoid rubbing(duh).

Thanks PO.

1.5" drop (average between F&R), 17's w/ 45 series tire, either 205 or 215.

dont forget that tire size (width & sidewall) and rim offset have just as much to do with it as rim size!

I believe mine are +42, I run 17x7, w/ 215/45/17's and I'm sitting on HR Race springs w/ Ingalls camber kits, I rub a little under heavy steering or into off camber driveways etc (but I just got new rubber too, so they're large). You can run a lower series tire, 40's, or skinnier 205's.

personally I think they look like 4x4s w/ larger wheels on stock suspension, but you're right you wont have to deal with all the other complications. rock what you got, no matter what anyone else on here says....if you're happy with it, thats all that matters.

Yeah those should work no problem....look in the Wheels/Tires section to see recomendations on this, but those should cause no problems.

Problems? just run those wheels, 1.5" lowering springs (Eibach Pro-kit are a really nice ride for not a bad price, Ebay), and if you're really worried about it run a 205/40/R17 tire, should have no rubbage at all.
