I have a JDM RHD console just like the USDM 1994-1996 consoles...except it's a mirror image. It didn't come with an ebrake assembly and I can't find anyone for the life of me. Does anyone know (or can confirm) whether the USDM LHD ebrake assembly for the 1994-1996 Preludes will work with my RHD console? I'd check myself, but I'm converting this on my 1993 Prelude, so I have the goofy-ass center ebrake.
you need alot more things than just the console to convert to rhd. You dont need to mess with your ebrake assebly if you dont wnat to. you can keep the stock one there, it might just be a little akward.
What else would I need? I think it would be impossible to use the stock one, since I couldn't get to it. Even if I could, I wouldn't be able to apply it, since it would be stuck in the down position.
i believe the rhd ebrake is also a mirror image of the LHD ebrake handle, you might be able to use a LHD one but id try to reuse the current one: you may need to get a bit creative with a way to mount it to the body in the right spot, i think you could just get away with getting a nice leather boot for the 92-93 ebrake handle. might be easier than finding a rhd ebrake. i think you may also need the ebrake cables from a 94+ prelude because they are longer?? the 94+ handle mounts more forward towards the firewall than the 92-93 handle. you may be able to make an extension for the cables but remember to make it so that it applies even pressure to both cables when you pull the handle up.

I got a LHD ebrake assembly shipped this morning. It looks as though I should be able to use it, but we'll see. The 92-93 ebrake assembly handle just isn't all enough. It is completely straight, while the 94+ has an upward curve to it. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens.
The USDM handle fits, but I haven't drilled anything yet. Should be getting to that tonight, if not then I will this weekend. I don't have the 94+ ebrake cables yet, though.
That helps a buttload! I was planning on doing something similar to what he has for the ebrake cables until I can find a set. We're drilling on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I got the ebrake assembly all cleaned up (the button was sticking down VERY badly) but everything is going good so far. I need to find a blank for the place for mirror controls on my console, since I also have the controls in my door. Does Honda even make a blank for that position? Maybe from a Civic or Accord?
Hmm I don't know...but if not you can either get a door panel without the hole for the switch or maybe even remove the cloth covering your panel, somehow fill that space up and re-upholster with new cloth or leather...just an idea
Oddly enough, I actually like the mirror controls in the door. I had thought about getting a 94-96 door panel, but the designs are different than what I have and it would throw everything off. That, and blue interior pieces kinda seem hard to come by. I'll figure something out, though. One step at a time.
Did you not read anything in the link provided by Bertico78? The guy in the other thread used USDM handle...it worked. I have a USDM handle that I've test fitted and it'll work perfectly.
sounds good cant wit to see hwo you did it cause mine has an angled section on the body hope i can do what ever i need to make it fit. cause i cant find a jdm handle for the life of me.
Well, by the time I got to my hardware store to grab a couple of bolts and locking washers, they were closed. Thursday is Thanksgiving, so I should jump on the project Friday afternoon.
JDM handles are very hard to find. I talked with an importer that buys front clips and he said that he's never seen one.
