Reverse lights not working(when in gear) - Honda Prelude Forum

My reverse lights no longer work while my car is in reverse gear, but when I shift into neutral or any other gear but reverse my reverse lights stay on , is there any way of solving this matter?

i have a similiar problem...its stays on all the time. I just took out the bulbs for now b/c i havent had time to fix it. I think it might be the reverse light on/off switch. Its located on the transmission.

that would be my guess too. I think the switch is right around where the shifter linkage meets the lever that goes into the tranny.

the switch is on the top of the transmission, just to the side of the motor mount, in front of the linkage

Alright thanks once i find this switch what do i do??

check, to make sure it is engaging/disengaging properly (while someone else shifts and you are under there) (use jackstands for sure and keep your fingers away)

If it is simply stuck on, try to unstick and lubricate it, if you cant, maybe a new switch is in order.
