Just wondering, so if we would have said "yeah dude its sooo cool, everyone has to get one"
would you still get it?
The only thing I ever wanted was the HUD system in my 4th gen. I think it was part of a gauge set, can't remember the company but someone was selling it on here. Thats pretty neat.

right??
umm its the same place everytime on the tach. if you are talking about a shift light then thats different. when you are racing around you don't want to have to look down and notice the "exact" spot where you shift. even when you're out on the course, as a beginner, you will hit the rev limiter a couple of times just because there is so much going on around you.

i mean if you dont have a tachometer in your car, and you want to know approximately where to shift at, you mite want an aftermarket tach or shift light to see where your redline is at.

I would question cars that are standard that don't include a tachometer inside the car. I think the prelude has always had a tachometer ever since the 1st gen. If it was broken I could possibly see an issue but even then I would fix the stock one.

If your car has a tach already (stock) then it is ricer and no need for it. Even the light, if you don't race at a drag strip with the car every weekend (strip car) then useless. I see little ricer civic kids with automatics and stock tach and they buy these things and mount them on their dash, etc. IMO it's dumb. First off, it's an automatic, second they probably NEVER race competetively anyways.
You know, a VAFC (or VAFC II or NEO) displays your revs, and a bunch of other info. If you're not looking for a full stand alone ecu, a properly tuned (and I stress that, because I have seen one too many DIY VAFC tunes gone wrong...) VAFC can open up some healthy minor gains for your car.
