Restrictive Exhaust?

For those of you with the RS*R Ex-Mag/ Greddy SP2 / Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion, do you think there is a lot of restriction to those styles of exhausts when it comes to flow? Or would you prefer to have a exhaust setup like N1/Evo2/Racing Medallion?

of course there is more restriction. the point of thes systems is to gain performance yrt still have a very mellow tone, the only way to get the maximum HP out of an exhaust system is to open it up and produce the best flow w/out destroying backpressure. the more free flowing an exhaust is the louder its going to be

It's going to end up a decision made totally by you. I authored a very long and unproductive thread on HAN regarding which exhaust to buy, and what it ended up consisting of was a lot of owners saying that a) they have this or that exhaust b) you should buy it because c) they like it a lot. Like bsi said, the more power you want, the louder it will be. The Exmag is nice because it's not annoyingly loud, and people won't laugh at you as if you'd placed a folger's can on the end of your b-pipe. How it performs, I dunno, but the difference in power between an Exmag and a far-less restrictive (but legal) exhaust can't be too great, and it certainly won't be noticeable. Lol, I'm going to be one of those bastards when I say a) I have an exmag b) I think you should get one because c) I like mine a lot.

that was hardly worth a 'thank you', save it for when it really matters. I was just thinking though, one thing that does bug me from time to time about my Exmag is the tip, sure, it's not garrish and large, but I would've definitely preferred two smaller stainless pipes resembling the stock ones. If you're open to ideas, I would look into getting a muffler and then piecing the exhaust together. I just had to restore Windows on this damn computer, so all my bookmarks are on my backup drive, but I'm sure someone else can refer you to some good sites/companies: there are some pretty attractive mufflers made by some pretty reputable companies, and I suppose the same applies for the b-pipe. Just my 2 cents, but, ideally, a 4th gen would look best with 2-pipe exaust, with nice shiny stainless finishers on the ends. I'll see if I can dig up those bookmarks for ya.

from the engine back to the muffler: manifold --> a-pipe (where the O2 sensor plugs into, usually has some flexpipe in it) --> catalytic converter --> b-pipe (the longest stretch of exhaust pipe, it goes all the way from the catalytic converter back to the muffler) --> muffler.
