foil on resanator is what i did today, i noticed no power gains or sound increase except a little grumble about 3k rpms i reset my ecu and then the grumble went away oh well i hope it dosnt melt. very bad, when i get more free time i am gonna remove the foil put eletrical tape over the resanot it's self and not the intake hose and put it back on same concept but i will feel more safe with eletical tape instead of foil. but i dunno what do u think
Why in the hell did you put foil on your resonator?! I dont know where you got the idea to do this, but whoever put the notion into your head needs to get cock slapped. For the love of god, please sell your Prelude before you can do any more harm to it. . .
why there is not harm done at all, not the resanot in your exhaust the little j shaped piece of plastic in your intake tubing it's air tight whats gonna happen?

I know you were talking about the intake resonator. . .I just cant comprend what you were trying to do by putting tin foil on it. Seriously, did you think you were going to FEEL a difference after wrapping an essentialy usless part of the car in a food storage product?! Sure, you may not do any actual harm to your car. . .but every time I hear of a Prelude being "abused" like this I just cringe. Yet another testiment to your user name. . .let me guess, you have chrome three spoke wheels as well? I'm not even sure you wrapped the "resonator" in tin foil. In the diagram below, which number did you cover with your mommies Glad Wrap?:

PART NUMBER 25 IS NOT THE RESONATOR!!!!
The resonator assembly is located in the passanger side wheel well. You have to remove the wheel and fender housing. Removing the resonator does not affect air quality because it comes before the airfilter. The biggest bennefit of removing it is the weight savings and it might sound a little different. I have no clue what the part you removed does or WHY you thought you should remove it. You stlll have not explained exactly what you were trying to accomplish with your little "mod". Was the foil designed to keep the air "cool"? reduce "turbulance"?
I honestly dont know what scares me more: 1) that people like you exist, or 2) that you are allowed to drive and reproduce.
heheh, you guys are being so mean you cant pick on a dumb person for being stupid... Its like saying "haha you cant see" to a blind person, c'mon show a little compassion

I see his point. He is trying to prevent hot air from entering the intake via this seemingly pointless branch of the intake.
I do however recommend you replace the part you took off, because what you just did doesnt help performace any noticable ammount, and just looks plain dumb.
a better idea may be to make animal shapes out of the foil and sell it for contribution towards your new intake.
Does anyone really know what this little part 25 is supposed to do besides draw air from the engine bay back into the intake, because I sure dont.
i took it off i was a retard for puttin it on in the first place and i belive that part 25 is called a resinator just not a big one like the one in the fender thing. i may try to remove that now.
I thought that was just some noise thing but since it doesn't change the sound I guess not I don't think I would've put foil to cover it though... I don't trust foil to be strong enough to stand the suction of the engine
