replacing window trim

anyone ever had all their window trim and door trim replaced? I'm talking about the weather stripping and what not? Just curious because mine looks like ass & I figure I would have to add the cost of such to whatever it will cost to paint the car.

Mine is starting to look rough too, I would be curious to how much it costs. It usually seems like anytime I try and buy something new from Honda, I end up realizing its not worth fixing.

yeah, mine is all getting dried out & pulling away from the glass &/or cracking/pulling away. I'm going to hopefully be getting the car repainted w/in the next 6 months, so I think it would be pretty dumb to do so with f'd up trim...

I'm sure if you look up in the Helms it'll tell you exactly how to remove all the trim you wanna replace, then installation is the reverse of removal

Ive replaced only part of my window trim, the bottom piece that snaps into the outside of the door and goes against the bottom of the window. it was a $45 part, it pulled out and snapped in really easily.

oooo...yeah, the replacement of such is pretty easy from what I can tell. I'm just curious how hard it would be to get all the parts.

Dilligaph> did you just order yours from a dealer?

yep, jus ordered it from the honda dealer i was working at back then. i get a discount still, not sure what the regular price of that is... another place to try is www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for good parts prices but only if you buy a few things, cause the shipping isnt cheap.

jsmooney> I'm assuming not. the reason it is pulling away is because the material is deteriorating & loosing it's pliability. Mine has actual gotten brittle & started to break off in small pieces. That's what I get for having my car in essence stored for a year w/no cleaning/treatment.

I am replacing my window trim as well, What is the proper name for this? I hear weather stripping, window trim and on the website hondaautomotiveparts.com it is listed as "sub seal". I need all of the trim around the rear windows and front windows. To me it looks like #12,13 covers part of the trim. ( Honda Automotive Parts ) in the diagram circled/outlined labeled 12,13 come with the pins or clips for the trim too? I just want to make sure I get all the right stuff and i dont want to have the wrong stuff shipped here :x. Also I dont see the bottom trim listed there. Anybody have any input for what Is needed for me to get the right parts? Or an easier laid out website that I can read! Thanks!

They have an article how to repair it and look like brand new with a spray. I tried googling it for you. Cant find it. It was on some kind of prelude site.
