replacing ignition stuff - tune up

I need to replace my plugs, wires, and cap/rotor. I've always heard that Honda is the way to go for the cap and rotor, but what about plugs and wires? My 95 VTEC has just a thermal exhaust and aem cai. Also, where can I find those parts online the cheapest?

My car has 113k and I've regularly done valve adjustments. I also need to get the timing belt done. Is this something I can tackle myself? My mechanical ability extends about to the valve adjustment, but not much further as of yet. What might it cost to get it done by a pro?

Any other things need to be done? Maybe change tranny fluid? Anything else?

Hit the nail on the head, leave it to the pros.

Dealers around here wanted $625 to do the timing belt and water pump. They told me the VTEC model costs more than the Si. They said it was more involved.

I ended up getting my timing belt done, all drive belts, and new tensioner, and water pump changed for $425 through a mechanic that my brother knows. This mechanic said that he would never work on another VTEC car because it was a pain.

Definitely have your water pump changed when you have the timing belt changed.

BTW: if you are not interested in going aftermarket on the wires, I have a brand new set that I purchased from Honda along with the coil wire. I could sell them cheap. Let me know if you are interested.

Mark
