You simply can't do it. Besides, its much easier dropping the motor w/ the tranny.

Easy to drop in with the tranny. This has been covered here ALOT

Here's a recent thread about removing the engine with transmission: help with engine

Its possible to get the engine and tranny in together you just have to have a few people to help manuever things around. I did it with 3 people it was a pain but overall it only took 15 minutes tops and sure as hell beat taking the tranny off and trying to put it back on in the engine bay. I cant remember exactly how I did it but I know that the tranny was lower than the engine.

it shouldnt be to hard to do, I just pulled an h23 out of my totaled 93 to drop in the 94 I bought. its just backwards of pulling..... you need to make sure the transmission side is lower. leave the back motor mount on and the drivers side one as well. drop it in and attach the drivers side, the raise it up and attach the passenger side, then back and then front.... shouldnt be to hard you just need probably two people to move it around and one to operate the lift

when i swapped my h23 for h22, i put my h23 tranny on the h22 engine before dropping it back into the car... worked out fine.
