replacement shocks?

Okay, so my ride isnt as stiff as it used to be when i first got the car. 170k on stock suspension parts. right now with my living and schooling and the crappiness of the roads, i would destroy a lowered car. what are some good replacement shocks?

thanks,
jonathan

KYB GR2, that way when you do eventually lower it you'll just need springs or coilovers.

how tight are these compared to stock? how well are they at stock ride height?

more importantly, how is the ride quality?

They're stiffer than stock but I doubt if the ride would suffer at all, I would think it would just tighten it up a bit. I mean you'll still be on stock springs. Here is a description directly from their site:

"GR-2® Premium Shocks and Struts are specially designed to provide a smooth, secure ride with excellent control for drivers who are looking for ride comfort and improved handling. With its patented check valve, the GR-2® Premium Shocks and Struts always maintain excellent performance under even the roughest conditions. It also provides comfort and control that is often better than original equipment. GR-2® Premium Shocks and Struts are available for virtually all vehicles on the road today."

Shocks are like what you see on the back of trucks. Struts have springs attached to them.
