Repainting 92 prelude.....

Ok here's the deal, I have a 92 Prelude SI that was originally painted fresco blue, it was hit on the driver side rear quarter panel about 4 years ago. All of the damaged was repaired cheaply be a body shop with body filler (bondo), while the car was getting the panel fixed I asked them to fix some other spots as well as paint the entire car white. To make a long story short, after a few years the paint started to chip in some place due to poor paint prep. What I want to do is repaint the car to its original color which is fresco blue, but what I really want to know is there a way to make the paint not so purple?

Any input would be great or any close color options.

Find another color to paint it or you have to custom mix it yourself.

you could always take the paint code to a local "do it yourself" body store and have them match the color and then look for other colors around it but with less of a purple foot print.

There's a code under your hood and in yer doorz bai... But You might as well makea custom color cause that would be sweet and to repaint white car orig. blue woould cost a lot $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Probably close to the price of a custom color. Ya know . A good PJ is gonna cost you a couple g's$ (PJ)

Whatever color the door jambs and under the hood are etc. is the color you should probably stick with cause then you could at least pay only a third the cost and have them only do the exterior. If the paint is letting go at the body then it'll cost more cause they might have to take it down to the bare metal rather than just sanding off the top layer or the clear coat.

The car was originally blue so bringing it back to blue would be that hard. I know making a custom blend would be best and it is still a consideration, but what I'm looking is some paint code ideas and I don’t think it would cost a couple of g's.

When the car was painted the door jams were painted along with the underside of the trunk lid (that will be a pain to sand down). I wanted to paint the exterior the same color as the engine bay, which is fresco blue. But I remember when the car was blue it looked blurple in certain light settings. I just wanted to find a color close enough to fresco blue with less of a purple tint.
