Removing Rear Deck (tint)

I want to get my Windows tinted professionally.. These Bastids over here are trying to charge me an additional $30 because they'll have to take apart my rear deck to tint the rear.. Ahhh! I'll do it myself, someone tell me how.

It's cakework. With experience, it shouldn't take more than a half of an hour. But brand new, with no directions, this project took me an hour. Good luck.

1) First what you need to do is turn the key in the rear deck to make that seat fold down.
2) Next, unscrew your speakers from the trunk side of the deck.
3) You will have to go to the driver's side rear seat, and underneath the 'seat' cushion, there are two 'clip' things. Just pull on them, or if they are stubborn use a blunt object. Doing this will release the bottom 'seat' portion. Pull forward and up and the seat will come off.
4) At the bottom of the seat-'back', there are three screws bolting the seat cushion to the metal. Unbolt (10mm) the outside two.
5) Push up on the seat cushion, and it should slide right off.
6) From this point, you should have the little plastic piece to unbolt off from the center, about where one's head is resting (or in VTEC models, where the 6x9 is). Unbolt that (10mm) and take it off.
7) Disconnect your rear speakers from the wiring they are attached to. You will have to turn (either clockwise or counterclockwise) the speakers in order to pry them up out of their resting place. After disconnecting the wiring, set the speakers aside.
8) Don't worry, but the rear deck piece is just going to have to be bent. It bends like cardboard, and doesn't affect the look of the rear deck.
9) From the passenger's side, pull the rear deck piece out lengthwise. In otherwords, not towards you, to the other end of the car (left to right).
10) After that part comes out from underneath the plastic, pull the other side out (easy).
11) And there you have it.

Obviously, this [the rear deck] isn't something that can be pulled out completely (there's metal under the cover), but it will allow them to get the tint down farther. While you're at it, feel free to dynamat or insulate the rear deck. That thing rattles like crazy.

If you have any questions, reply or IM me (Phastlude), as I may have left something out (probably not, though).

You got a good reply fast. I posted this before. I have about 1 inch of tint still left on the bottom. As far as removing the rear seat I would pull back the lower part and take off the bolts first then the seat pulls right off. I think I would break the clips taking it off any other way.

Oh yea.. I broke somethings in order to do this. There are like two WHITE screw-wannabe things underneath (holding the rear deck in place) on the trunk side. Those are a pain in the ass, so I just broke them, because I didn't care. There's no reason to have those in there, IMO. They were ticking me off; so I broke them off and that solved it

I don't think that there is a way to remove them, and this has to be done prior to ANYTHING, so actually it's step #1.
