Removing power steering?

Is there a point in keeping the power steering in my 92 prelude? i would like to clean up my engine bay and want to remove power steering and cruise. any ideas?

Why do you want it off? I guess if your a racer than it can take a couple pounds off so you can go fast. hmmm... then again it can be harder for you to control... i guess its a personal thing. Just keep it on, but you can drive it with out power steering too. But it will "pump the arms" haha. But it will be harder to steer and control big time.

Thats weird, ive been told looping the lines makes it seem a LOT better.

Ya i knew that the faster you go with out power steering, the easier it gets to steer. In fact with the newer cars today, power steering actually goes away the faster you go (another invention HONDA is praised for, since they were among the first to do it) to prevent over steering your vehicle. I meant all together because most of the time we never really drive past 60mph unless your on the freeway.

looping the lines is the correct way to remove your powersteering, it doesn't affect anything since the pump isn't helping you at all.

slower speeds (like when you are parking) is the hardest to move the steering wheel, at higher speeds, you feel the steering responsive better and it gets easier to turn.
