Remote Central Locking

Hey guys, I'm looking at fitting a remote central locking system onto my 92 prelude si. I'm just wondering how hard or easy this will be to do myself? ive taken the doors apart before so I know what its all like, but I have no idea about remote central locking, since it already has central locking??

Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks :)

If you go with the Honda OEM security system the install will be very easy because no one gives better instructions than Honda. All it is is following easy step by step from the pages and everything is plug and play. Programming is very easy as well, they explain everything. Majestic Honda had all their install instructions online. Unfortunately they are not there anymore. I would research the 92-96 Honda Prelude OEM Security System and options. I have seen a few 4th gens at junk yards that had these systems. You will need to get every component needed for the install.

Another way to go is aftermarket system, but most of the time there are risks and malfunction problems. I always hear people complain about their aftermarket setups, they usually work great for a year or two but then they hit the tank.

I hope someone can recommend a decent aftermarket system for you that will be plug and play and easy to install. Most of all one that can last more than a year.

Good Luck!

OEM security system

I'm doing the same...

I've bought the OEM security system from Honda (part 08E51-SV4-102F) and my car is a '93 VTEC Prelude.

I don't have the attachment kit, that's the problem. I have the installation instructions (yes i've found it thanks to 'vmunix'). If you want it, i'll send you the gif's.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone knows if the 93 VTEC USDM lude is prepaired for this OEM security system??

Because i've tried to find out the connectors (gray 14-pin, brown 5-pin and 3-pin) and i think i've only find out 5 and 3 pin ones... I don't know where is located the 14-pin. (the only big conectors i have are 2 above the fuse box and there are together.

Need help!!
