RELIABLE mods???

What are some mods that can be done, besides I/H/E, that won't compromise the reliability of the H22A. I'm talking about the car still rolling past 200k without a rebuild, like the stock engine would.
Another question, how often do you guys drive your cars hard? How does the VTEC lude handle being driven like this. Any probs?
Sorry about all the ???'s, but I'm getting a new lude, and just want to know if it can handle a little hard revving every once and a while.
Thanx again.

Pullies, headwork, Apex'i AFC, mild cams, ignition, FPR, port matching everything you bold onto your engine, weight reduction, cam gears, more weight reduction... It all depends on how much money you've got, you know? N/A is more reliable than FI, in most cases, but you're going to have to dole out way more money to get N/A power, and you won't get the numbers a highly tuned FI car has.

I don't want to be the fastest thing on the street, .......okay, yeah I do. But for right now I just want to perform some mods that will keep me in front of most cars. Reliability however is the most important, seeing how I want to keep this thing until it turns to dust. Peace Out

Hmmm...
Best thing I could think of is not to be stupid (rev past limiter), frequent oil changes, good maintenance schedule.

I/H/E/Pullies, and some good ol' fashion weight reduction are probably your best bet, then, ol' buddy. For a bit more, you can always go for the cam gears, fuel pressure regulator, and dyno tune your ride. This will give you every ounce of hp out of your engine, and it will be reliable.

Yikes!! 183? For the safety of my car, myself, and everybody around me, I'm going to replace my engine at 150k, b/c I'm sure it will be on its last legs... I'll have to do a compression test, and check my gas mileage by then, as well, b/c I beat the ever living piss out of my H23, haha.

NSLRacer had an H23 with 250,000 on it, had I/H/E and drag radials and ran a tenth better than me at LACR with I/H/E. Even though an engine has high milage doesn't mean it's weak, especially when it comes to imports

I/H/E will keep you in front of MOST cars. I'm not positive, but my h23 LOVES to be driven hard, so I'm sure it would be the same for the h22.

Drive it like you hate it!!!! That's what i do. I think that's what they are made for, high revving sports cars are made to be driven like sports cars. IMO If you want reliability and performance go buy a mustang or a camaro, because as we all know those domestics last forever.

You know you have a car that loves to be driven hard when the motor gets carbon build up if you don't take it over 6k rpms on a regular basis! My car is in a Redline habitat ALWAYS, so I'm not worried about that. The person who said drive it like you hate it is right. Balls to the wall all the time.

I have to say, BUT... what was his prep work? I have beaten the ever-living sh!t out of my H23. Who knows what I could do on the dyno, or on the strip. All that I can say is that I've beaten people on the street that I shouldn't have, and thats that. People on this very board doubt that I've destroyed various IS 300s on the freeway, from a ROLLING START.
