red/clear taillight option...

do you think it would be neat to buy a set of $60 all clear taillights off ebay and spray paint everything above the blinker/reverse part with testors transparent candy apple red model paint to get a red/clear taillight? i had an 86 accord before the prelude and i used that paint to paint the entire taillight red instead of red/amber. it looked good and wore well, but now after 2 years its starting to flake off. maybe cuz i havent washed that car in about a year? cant remember if i cleaned them well b4 painting. oh well...opinions?

just keep the stock red tailights and clear out the bottom by replacing the clear/amber peice with clear florescent light covering.....thats what I did and it looks really good! I'll give you a pic if you want

I wish my girlfriend would wash my car....then again she would probably use detergent, or something. Back to the original question, I would just clear out the bottom, because when you paint the plastic it always looks like crap IMO.

Stock paint... some bodywork has been done, but most of the car is the same paint as when I bought it. I dont know if the previous owner had the car repainted at any time. Thanks for the compliment

If anyone has an extra pair of lights already cleared please let me know. I ruined one pair and I've gotten taken for two sets of stockers. It doesn't feel good getting bent over!
