Red Button

Can anyone tell me why there is a red button down by the driver side left foot area? It is near where you open up your hood at.

i have a red button a small LED light and a rocker switch right next to each other on the right side of my steering wheel on the lower dash. i figured it was a nitrous arming switch and the nitrous button from the last person i bought it from and he took it out but i dont know. im going to hook up my underdash lites to that switch and the led light.

The Red Button

The Red Button is for the alarms, kill starter. This button is in case if you don't have your car alarm, if it happens to break in any condition. Without the alarm transmitter, you can still start the car with just pressing and holding the button for 5-10 seconds.

In Summary:
The button is used for if you don't have your alarm transmitter and need to start the car. That button overirdes the kill start when the car goes off.

if its a small short chrome button with a red cap, then its for the alarm. its the valet switch. you can get in to the menu of the alarm to turn up and down the sensitivity and such...
