Rear Wiper Removal: Post-1994 Only!

1994 was a great year, oh yes. I remember the days...

But I'm pretty sure that, along with the other small changes Honda made to the Prelude in that year, they also changed the construction of the rear wiper.

I think with the pre-1994 cars, you just popped off a little plastic cover to reveal a nut; but this does not seem possible with my car. Instead of a rectangularish base, it now has a large, circular base. Just in case this is common to any other Hondas.

Now, I know that none of you American guys and gals will be able to help me with this; but there must be somebody out there with a post-1994 car with a rear wiper who is able to tell me how to get it off! Er, the wiper, I mean!

Before anyone asks, I'm not selling it: I just want to paint it, because it's faded and is now silver instead of black.

I don't know about that. Here in the UK, the 4th gen VTEC cost £22,610, which is about $42,000. Did anybody in America have to pay that much for their Lude?

Anyway, yeah, my Lude has all those things and more. I like the Air Filter on the parcel shelf.

Now, if only I could get that wiper arm off in order to paint it.

Yea for 42k u got everything in that lude us luders wish we could have. I believe sticker price for a 94 vtec lude was like 27-28k new. I kno still a big price difference, but u got way better stuff on ur car stock compared to ours.

ya, but 93 models had all of the updates the 94 in the states had. it took a year for them to make it to the rest of the world. well, that's the way it is for the 5th gens.

Seriously, why did we get screwed in not being able to have all these options? It's probably a DoT thing.

That and the US prob didn't want the JAP cars to make their DOMESTICS look even worse than they already do.

Yeah. And if anyone knows how to get the wiper arm off (I think it's different from the pre-1994 cars), I'd really like to know!

It's powered. There's a 4-position switch (Off/1/2/3) beside the dashboard dimmer control and the half-height aerial switch.

Well... when they do prices in the UK, they take the original Dollar value and just replace the $ sign with the £ sign... so automatically things cost twice as much in the UK. When I vacationed there for a week during my Euro excursion England ate so much of my money just on the conversion rate.

Example... an item that costs $5 is the states costs around £5 in the UK... which translates back to around $10. Crazy pound system...
