Anyone have any tips on how to get the cap off the hub as I tried at the weekend but they wont shift.

You're gonna need a hydraulic press.

Flat screw driver an hammer just try to hit it away from the hub an try not to drive it into the cap

yeah, if you havent figured it out already, try to first find the groove and clean the dirt out. then gently tap around the lip of it with a small chisel or screwdriver, turn the hub and do this in a few spots eventually it will start to come out, then just grab it and pull.
